Hawaiian Eye Foundation Activities
Hawaiian Eye Foundation promotes optimal
eye care for people of the Pacific Basin through service, education,
and research programs that support the development of local
capacity and infrastructure.
Current Activities
- Expeditions that have provided free
eye surgery and training in Pacific Basin countries like
Tonga, Fiji, Samoa, and the Republic of Kiribati since 1984;
- Imperial City Eye Meetings that have
taught advanced techniques to over 500 eye surgeons in Viet
Nam since 2006;
- Outreach programs, including training
scholarships, equipment and supply donations, and research
projects benefiting unserved and underserved people of the
Pacific.
- Royal Hawaiian Eye Meetings that for
30 years have provided continuing education for US eye surgeons.
