Hawaiian Eye Foundation  Republic of Palau Expeditions Gallery

At the invitation of the Ministry of Health, HEF, in partnership with Surgical Eye Expeditions (SEE) International, visited the Republic of Palau for the first time in 2011. Over the course of two weeks, Dr. Jeff Rutgard and OR tech Corinne Spencer conducted over 400 examinations, and performed 70 cataract operations on individuals ranging in age from 40 to 89, many of whom had been blind for eight to 12 years.
