Dr. Jeff Rutgard, a Foundation Board member, regularly leads teams of volunteers to Samoa (formerly Western Samoa) in association with an organization called Marine Reach to care for thousands of islanders who have no access to eye care in Apia, on the island of Upolu, and on the island of Savaii.
