Our first training programs began in the Kingdom of Tonga in 1984. We return periodically with a team of volunteer surgeons, nurses, and assistants to see patients, perform surgery, and teach surgeons and nurses at Vaiola Hospital in the capital city of Nuku’alofa on Tongatapu.
Then we fly north to Vava’u, where we see patients in Neiafu at the Prince Ngu Hospital. From here, we sail to nurses’ clinics on small, scattered islands, dispensing eye drops, eye glasses, and seeing patients. We also sponsor the village school on the island of Hunga. Support an upcoming Tonga expedition as a volunteer » or donor. »
